On Friday night, January 29th of 2021, our brother Michael William “Double K” Turner went to sleep like any other night in good health and fine spirits. He was 43 years old.
A few hours later, Mikey unexpectedly yet peacefully transitioned in his sleep - never to wake up on Saturday morning.
His passing left his wife Etheldra, his dog Archie, his family, friends, fans and myself devastated. While we can never fill the darkness left in his absence, I attempt to make sense of this loss daily and appreciate, above all, the fans who have continued to carry the torch in our name. The phrase “Forever The P” was often used - but I truly feel it now.
After an extended period of grieving, a memorial, a burial at sea and time spent with his closest friends and family - I felt compelled to pull a crate of records that outlined the memorable moments of our digging lives and career - the musical building blocks to the phenomenon that was People Under The Stairs. One final trip down memory lane while cracking a Humanity, Rock On beer brewed in his memory.
